What We Learned at Alumnae Leadership Council
Gorgeous fall weather greeted us on October 14 as we arrived on campus for a whirlwind weekend of seminars, tutorials, and celebrations. This year's Alumnae Leadership Council included class officers, representatives of regional clubs, and reunion planners.
We learned there are amazing things happening in the newly-restructured Career Education Office, and that the Wellesley Effect campaign is blazing hot. Construction and renovation continues now that Pomeroy’s living room has been renovated; next up are some super-smart design changes to the common areas of the new dorms. The stunning art studios in Pendleton West should be finished in January.
We learned that Wellesley still has need-blind admissions… and is committed to ensuring no student will graduate with more than $15K of debt.
We learned how to mud-wrestle the new communications portal, how to use the Wellesley logo, who the approved caterers are for Reunion, and what our deadlines will be.
Best of all, we re-learned how invigorating it is to be surrounded by intelligent women eager to engage and give and grow. Our conversations revealed a deep desire to re-connect with classmates we have lost track of, and to make our 35th Reunion inviting to all. We can't wait until June 2 to see you.
Attendees from the Class of 1982 at this year’s ALC included Alexandra Norton Haner (Treasurer, Wellesley Club of NJ), Helen Mar Poon (Class President), Karen King (Wellesley Fund Representative), Pamm McNeil (Sed Ministrare Award recipient), Mary Piro Millburn, Julia Johnson Attaway (Reunion Co-Chair), Kathy Yeu (Class Treasurer), and Caroline Mortimer (Record Book Chair, not pictured).
